The BEST Lens for all-round use is the Sony 16-35mm F4 Zoom.
Zeiss designed it crystal clear, wide open, and even at the edges. Great for landscape or night photography!

Sony 14mm F1.8 GM Prime "G Master" lens
It's the best in their product line. It's not that expensive, considering what cheap knockoff lenses cost. You do get what you pay for when pushing a lens to its limits: wide open, 20-second exposures, edge-to-edge sharpness! If you love shooting the Milky Way, this is the best lens for the job!

This is NOT a Sony lens but one from Tamron. I bought it because it's a specialty lens, and although I use it only a few times a year, it's a fantastic performer when I do.
This lens works especially well in low light, which you wouldn't expect because of the small aperture, but it does and performs really well. I've shot photos of the moon with this on a clear night; they are sharp and well-saturated.

An alternative ultra-wide lens to the Sony 14mmwhich is shown above. It is half the cost and has great image quality, but as a manual focus lens, you need to pre-focus on stars and then lock the focus to infinity when shooting at night.
